How Do Jeep Performance Chips Work?
Rocket Chip performance chips connect to the vehicle through the OBD-II diagnostic port. The device communicates with the engine-management system using a vehicle-specific programmed configuration. Rocket Chip performance chips are designed to adjust fuel and timing-related parameters to improve throttle response and engine performance. The device must remain connected while in use.
Installation does not require wire cutting, and the chip can be removed when needed for vehicle servicing or diagnostics. See our Installation Page
Choose the Right Performance Chip for Your Jeep
Selecting the correct Jeep performance chip depends on four main factors:
- Model year
- Jeep model
- Engine configuration
- Performance grade
Use the selectors above to match the chip to your vehicle before ordering.
Rocket Chip currently lists two performance grades:
Boost: Up to +40 horsepower and up to +2–4 MPG
Boost+: Up to +60 horsepower and up to +4–6 MPG
Actual results can vary by vehicle, engine, maintenance condition, driving habits, and other factors.
