How Do Geo Performance Chips Work?
Rocket Chip performance chips plug directly into your vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic port to interface with the engine management system. We use vehicle-specific programming that recalibrates fuel delivery, spark timing, and boost parameters to give you sharper throttle response and immediate power gains. Keep the device plugged in while driving, and simply disconnect it with the engine off whenever you take your vehicle in for service or diagnostics.
Choose the Right Performance Chip for Your Geo
To choose the correct Geo performance chip, select four key options:
- Model year
- Geo model
- Engine configuration
- Selected performance grade
Use the dropdown selectors above to verify compatibility before placing your order. Rocket Chip currently offers two performance tiers:
Boost: Up to +40 horsepower and up to +2–4 MPG
Boost+: Up to +60 horsepower and up to +4–6 MPG
Our Geo lineup covers three- and four-cylinder engine configurations. Actual performance gains depend on your vehicle’s overall condition, engine health, existing upgrades, and personal driving style.
Geo Performance Chip Installation
We designed Rocket Chip modules for instant, plug-and-play installation through your OBD-II port.
Follow these four steps to install your chip:
- Start the vehicle.
- Locate your OBD-II port under the driver-side dashboard.
- Plug the Rocket Chip securely into the port.
- Drive normally to let the software calibrate to your engine.
You will never need wire cutters, splices, or specialized tools. The adaptive software delivers full performance gains after roughly 50–150 miles of driving. To read comprehensive setup steps, visit our Performance Chip Installation page.
